Actual Royal Caribbean drink package cost
Royal Caribbean adds 18% gratuity to the Deluxe Beverage Package at purchase and it is not optional. That gap, $15.12 a day, is the single most common surprise on the folio. Everything below already includes it.
How much are mixed drinks on a Royal Caribbean cruise? $14.00
That is the median of 20 individually priced cocktails, from real onboard menu photographs. Every category below is the same: counted, not estimated.
Alcohol categories first, then everything else. Prices are as printed on the menu, before the 18% bar gratuity. The $14 cap is the Deluxe Beverage Package's per-drink ceiling: above it Royal Caribbean covers $14 of the drink and you pay the difference.

The Deluxe Beverage package covers 89% of the bar
74 of the 83 priced alcoholic drinks on Royal Caribbean sit at or under the $14 cap, so the package pays for those in full. On the other 9 you pay only the difference, not the whole drink.

9 drinks sit above the $14 cap
Faust Cabernet at $35.00, Caymus Cabernet at $32.00, WhistlePig 10YR Rye at $25.00, Moët & Chandon Brut Rosé at $24.00, The Prisoner Red Blend at $22.00, Beringer Cabernet at $19.00. On these Royal Caribbean covers $14 and charges you the difference, not the full price. Everything else on the alcoholic list is paid in full.

Drink Package price drop alerts
Finish the calculator at the top of this page and the result comes with a price alert. Pick your ship and sail date, confirm your email with a six-digit code, and we will write to you when the Deluxe Beverage package is reported at least 5% below the price you were quoted.
- ·Drops only. A rise never triggers an email.
- ·Tied to your sailing, and it stops on your sail date.
- ·Triggered by reports that agree, not by one anecdote.
4 points today, more as people report.
Prices people actually paid are collected in the calculator at the top of this page, not here. Reports are held until three independent observations agree for a ship and month, so nothing arrives on this chart as a single anecdote.
Report what you paid in the calculatorA price drop you can act on
Royal Caribbean lets you cancel and re-buy at a lower price any time before sailing, so this tracker carries a standing callout: watch it, and re-book when it dips. No other line in the set works that way.
Every drink package rule, in plain language
3 apply on every Royal Caribbean sailing. 3 depend on your cabin, your homeport or what you order, and those are the ones that change the answer.
Gratuity
Royal Caribbean adds an 18% gratuity to the advertised package price, and we build that into every figure above. The price itself moves with the ship, the sailing and the current promotion: most people see somewhere between $56 and $115 a day, around $84 on average. It is worth re-checking after you book: if the Cruise Planner price drops, you can cancel and re-buy at the lower one, free, any time before you sail.
Cabin purchase rule
Every guest 21 and over in the same stateroom must buy the package. That is why the cabin total below counts all of them. If one of you does not drink, it is worth calling Royal Caribbean: they will often let that person take the cheaper Refreshment package instead, which we cannot assume here because it is granted case by case.
Max drink value
The Deluxe package covers drinks priced up to $14, and every signature cocktail is exactly $14. You picked drinks above that line (a premium spirit or a pricier wine by the glass); we charge the difference, not the whole drink.
Daily limit
No daily limit: Royal Caribbean does not cap how many drinks you can have each day on the Deluxe package. The limit that matters is the $14 per-drink cap above.
State tax
Sailings out of Galveston add Texas state tax to alcohol bought while the ship is in port. That tax is charged on top of the figures above: we do not estimate it here.
Not included
Bottles of wine, vintage and reserve pours, mini-bar items and anything at a private-island vendor stall sit outside the package.
Yes. It works ashore at both.
Royal Caribbean honours the Deluxe Beverage Package at its own private destinations, so the bars at Perfect Day at CocoCay and Labadee are included on the same terms as the ship. It still stops at every other port of call.
This section only appears for lines where we hold a private-island rule. Where we do not, it is absent rather than empty.
Find yourself on this list
The Deluxe Beverage package pays for itself at 7.4 alcoholic drinks a day, with the $14 cap already counted. Ignore the cap and it flatters itself to 6.9.
Break-even is the package price with gratuity divided by the average value it actually delivers per drink, so the $14 cap is inside the number rather than assumed away.
How the calculator works
Two totals, honestly compared. What the package really costs once the line has taken its cut, against what your drinks would ring up one at a time.
