Southern Caribbean Cruise Ports

The Southern Caribbean holds 37 cruise ports, 33% of the 111 in the Caribbean. 5 of them are departure ports. The most visited cruise port in the Southern Caribbean sub-region is also its busiest departure port: Philipsburg, St. Maarten, appearing in 2,185 upcoming itineraries.

By port count it ranks 2nd of 4 sub-regions in the Caribbean, behind Eastern Caribbean at 40. Its ports span 11 countries, most of them in Netherlands Antilles, Guadeloupe and St Vincent And The Grenadines.

Southern itineraries sit below the hurricane belt, which is part of why they keep running through the late summer months when routes further north are more exposed. The distance from Florida means most sailings either run longer than a week or start from San Juan or Bridgetown instead. Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire are the usual anchor calls, with the Leeward and Windward islands filling out the rest.
