Renovation details
The MSC Meraviglia underwent a scheduled dry dock in 2024 at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard. The project included the installation of shore power capabilities and energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the vessel. Public areas, including the Crystal Lounge, received new carpeting and reupholstered seating to align with the fleet’s modern aesthetic. The next scheduled ship refurbishment will occur in April 2026. As the primary ship serving the New York City market, the MSC Meraviglia has transitioned to a schedule of "rolling refreshes" rather than a single massive overhaul. In April 2026, the ship is expected to undergo a brief technical dry dock during its repositioning to Europe to update its MSC for Me digital infrastructure and refresh the high-traffic areas of the Galleria Meraviglia. While no major structural changes are planned for 2026, the ship’s "soft goods"—including theater upholstery and stateroom bedding—are being standardly replaced to keep the 2017-built vessel feeling competitive with the newer World-class ships.
