Savor the authentic flavors of Venice on this small group food experience that blends the iconic Rialto Market with historic taverns and local wine bars. Designed for hotel guests, this immersive walking tour reveals where Venetians truly eat, drink, and gather. Begin in the heart of Venice, one of the world's most iconic cruise destinations, where ships dock near the lagoon and place you within easy reach of centuries-old culinary traditions. Meet your local guide at Campo San Giacomo di Rialto and start with a classic Venetian bite, pane e sopressa, before stepping into the vibrant Rialto Market, a must-see for food lovers. As you explore the stalls filled with fresh seafood, seasonal produce, and regional specialties, gain insight into daily Venetian life and the deep-rooted food culture of the lagoon. Continue your journey through hidden streets and into historic bacari, where you will enjoy a curated selection of cicchetti, Venice's signature tapas. Sample a variety of flavors including seafood, cheeses, vegetables, and traditional baccal prepared in different styles, all served in intimate, centuries-old taverns that capture the true spirit of the city. Your experience also includes a seated tasting of two classic Venetian fish pasta dishes in a historic restaurant, perfectly paired with four regional wines, beginning with a refreshing prosecco. A highlight of the tour is a relaxed lunch in one of Venice's last authentic trattorias, where recipes have been passed down for generations. End on a sweet note with a traditional tiramisu or seasonal dessert at a historic pastry shop dating back to the 1700s. This three-hour food experience offers the perfect balance of guided discovery, cultural storytelling, and authentic cuisine. With expert local guidance, pre-arranged tastings, and a carefully paced itinerary, it is an ideal way to experience Venice beyond the typical tourist path while enjoying a seamless and memorable day ashore.
