Classic Lisbon Half Day Tour
This half day tour will show you the highlights of Lisbon
Discover this magnificent city through its history and traditions as you visit the Monuments of the Portuguese Discoveries, drive through the most historic parts of the city, and visit the city museum. You will first travel to the Belem, quarter where you will find many beautiful monuments from the 15th and 16th centuries. A brief photo stop will be made outside the Belem Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which marks the point of departure of some of the Portuguese maritime explorations. You will also see the nearby Monument to the Discoveries (Padrao dos Descobrimentos), built to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the 'death' of Prince Henry the Navigator. Next, you will have time to visit the Church of S. Jerome Monastery, another UNESCO World Heritage site and a masterpiece of the Manueline style of architecture. You will then visit the Visit to Palacio da Ajuda, constructed to house the Royal family after the 1755 earthquake and tsunami. The palace finally became a permanent residence of the royal family during the reign of King Luis I and his wife, Maria Pia of Savoy. Most of the palace interiors were designed during King Luis I's reign by his wife, Queen Maria Pia and Possidonio da Silva, their architect. After your guided tour enjoy some free time at Restauradores or Marques de Pombal to make the route of Alfama using the Digital Walking tour. The Digital Walking tour allows guest to visit areas such as Alfama and Baixa-Chiado, areas that are closed due to heavy vehicles. An interactive guide that is activated via GPS, with audio playback and allows guests the freedom/opportunity to choose the route at their own pace. Please Note: The visit to Palacio da Ajuda will be replaced with a visit to the Royal Treasure Museum on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This tour ends at the Alfama quarter, which is located approximately 10 minutes from the cruise ship pier, for guests who would like to further explore the old town. Guests must download the free "Vox City" app if they choose to participate in the Digital Walking tour. The remaining instructions are provided through an informational flyer at time of check-in.

- We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, and comfortable, sensible, closed-toe walking shoes. Sunscreen and sunglasses are also suggested.
- Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, many of which are uneven and/or on an incline. Many areas visited on the tour are not wheelchair accessible.
