About this excursion
Discover Portugal’s highest mountain range on a private full-day tour from Porto to Serra da Estrela, a region of altitude, granite, cheese heritage, glacial landscapes and living pastoral culture.
With a licensed driver-guide and premium private vehicle, travel inland and shape the morning with one optional experience: a traditional cheesemaker visit with Serra da Estrela cheese tasting, a cheese heritage stop in Celorico da Beira, or a Dão wine estate visit at Quinta da Bica.
Continue through Seia, gateway to the mountains, then climb to Sabugueiro, one of Portugal’s best-known high-altitude villages.
Experience Lagoa Comprida, the summit area of Torre, flexible mountain lunch time, Vale do Rossim, Mondeguinho — source of the Mondego River — and Cabeça do Velho granite formation.
When timing and conditions allow, finish with Folgosinho and castle views before returning to Porto.
