- We recommend wearing comfortable and light, but modest clothing and walking shoes. Sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, a bathing suit, a hat and rain protection (if necessary) is suggested. As Thailand is a conservative country, skirts must cover the knees, and sleeveless or low-cut shirts are considered inappropriate. Shoes must be taken off when entering religious sites.
