Bacalar Seven Color Lagoon and Mayan Experience from Costa Maya
As your cruise arrives in Costa Maya, a day of local culture, traditional flavors, and the turquoise waters of Bacalar awaits beyond the port. Spend time with a local Maya family in Chacchoben Village, where traditions are still part of everyday life. Learn about local plants and traditional home remedies still used today, try making a tortilla by hand, discover family recipes and ingredients, and share an authentic home-cooked Maya lunch with your hosts. From Chacchoben, the day continues at Bacalar’s Seven Color Lagoon, whose waterways once served as a haven and passage for Caribbean pirates. Spend nearly two hours swimming, kayaking, floating on a tube, or simply relaxing by the water with a refreshing drink before returning to Costa Maya.
