The southern coast of St. Thomas is home to the attractive and protected Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary and Marine Preserve. Its exceptional natural resources are filled with scenic contrasts: manglar islands, rocky cliffs, shallow clear waters with seagrass beds, salt ponds, and panoramic ridgelines. These natural areas provide a rich nursery habitat for offshore coral reef fish and invertebrates, and homes to nesting egrets, pelicans, herons, and terns. On this St. Thomas excursion nature guides take you through the protected Inner Mangrove Lagoon Marine Reserve to Long Point at Patricia Cay. Kayak among the many small islands of the Mangrove Lagoon. Next, snorkel along the clear, protected waters of a coral-fringed mangrove nursery. Guides offer snorkeling instruction, point out the marine life, and interpret the diverse mangrove ecosystem. Please note: Your St. Thomas excursion departs from and returns to the marina located near the Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary and Marine Preserve. Transfers to and from the marina before and after your tour are not included in the tour price.

- An approximately 15 to 25-minute taxi ride (not included, approximately $15 US per person each way) is required to reach your departure location. Full details will be provided in your electronic ticket upon confirmation.
- Swim suit should be worn under a comfortable cover-up and sensible, rubber-soled deck or walking shoes are recommended. A towel, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.
- Guests need to to be able to paddle for approximately 60 minutes. For snorkeling, guests need a basic understanding of swimming. Kayak maximum weight is 600 pounds total.
