The southern coast of St. Thomas is home to the beautiful Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary and Marine Preserve. Its exceptional natural resources are filled with scenic contrasts: manglar islands, rocky cliffs, shallow clear waters with seagrass beds, salt ponds, and panoramic ridgelines. These natural areas provide a rich nursery habitat for offshore coral reef fish and invertebrates, and homes to nesting egrets, pelicans, herons, and terns. Here, on your St. Thomas shore excursion, you will kayak with nature guides who take you through the protected Inner Mangrove Lagoon Marine Reserve, stopping to explain the ecosystem. After kayaking, hike the pristine, deserted island of Cas Cay. As an important part of the Virgin Islands Park System, Cas Cay is a 15-acre Wildlife Preserve for white-cheeked pintail ducks, red-billed and white-tailed tropicbirds, brown pelicans, oyster-catchers, roseate terns, egrets, herons, and sandpipers. A special and rare dry forest ecosystem of mampo, sea grape, and inkberry begins at the south side volcanic cliffs and extends into a flat, sandy area with a red mangrove forest, complete with a village of hermit crabs. Enjoy many breathtaking views from coral and shell beaches at the base of volcanic cliffs and marine tidal pools, complete with a rare geologic blowhole. Next on your St. Thomas, snorkel along the clear, protected waters of a coral-fringed mangrove nursery. Guides offer snorkeling instruction, point out the marine life and interpret the diverse mangrove ecosystem. Please note: Your tour departs from and returns to the marina located near the Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary and Marine Preserve. Transfers to and from the marina before and after your tour are not included in the tour price.

- An approximately 15 to 25-minute taxi ride (not included, approximately $15 US per person each way) is required to reach your departure location. Full details will be provided in your electronic ticket upon confirmation.
- Swim suit should be worn under a comfortable cover-up and sensible, rubber-soled deck or walking shoes are recommended. A towel, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.
- Guests must be a minimum of 35 pounds to be able to fit into the life jackets- if under the weight they must bring their own coast guard certified life jacket .Guests need to to be able to paddle for approximately 60 minutes. Hike is 8 min walk over coral rubble terrain. For snorkeling, guests need a basic understanding of swimming. Kayak maximum weight is 500 pounds total
