Amazing Catalina Scavenger Hunt
See the sights, play a game and experience Catalina in a whole new way.
Looking for a way to turn Catalina Island into a giant game board? Urban Adventure Quest offers an interactive scavenger hunt that mixes the excitement of an amazing race with a two-hour biking tour of Avalon on Catalina Island. Guided from your Verizon or AT&T smartphone, groups pedal among both well-known sights and hidden gems, solving clues and tackling challenges while learning local history. The adventure starts in the heart of Avalon and leads you along the waterfront, up the canyon, and back through town to the scenic coast. The tour covers less than three miles of riding in total. Using your smartphone as "the guide" lets you decide when to begin and set your own pace. Want to stop for ice cream or linger over the view? It's up to you. Offered at a flat rate for a group rather than per person, this city tour and game combo is a great choice for budget-minded visitors. Please note: is a fully self-guided, clue-solving adventure completed on your smartphone, with no live guide provided. To play the Quest, it's necessary to have AT&T or Verizon cell service because those are the only two cell towers on the island.
