Fox Canyon Hiking Expedition
Just an hour from the coast lies a true oasis in the middle of the Mexican desert, full of fascinating plants and wildlife -- with views unlike anything you've ever seen. Explore it with us as you hike through Fox Canyon.
Explore the natural beauty of Baja California Sur beyond the beaches with a small-group Fox Canyon waterfall-hiking shore excursion from Cabo San Lucas. This active adventure takes you from the Pacific coast into the Sierra de la Laguna region, where rugged desert landscapes meet granite canyons, native vegetation, freshwater pools, and the scenic Fox Canyon waterfall. Your approximately 6-hour Cabo San Lucas shore excursion begins at Plaza Gali, conveniently located near the Cabo San Lucas cruise tender terminal. From there, travel approximately 90 minutes in air-conditioned transportation through the Baja countryside to Fox Canyon and Rancho Ecologico Sol de Mayo. Along the way, enjoy views of the mountains and traditional ranch landscapes while your bilingual guide shares insights into the area's natural surroundings and local culture. Upon arrival at Fox Canyon, spend approximately 90 minutes hiking and exploring the canyon. Follow approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) of natural dirt and rocky trails featuring uneven terrain and moderate inclines. Your guide will lead you through this desert oasis toward the scenic waterfall and its freshwater pool, where you'll have time to take photos, relax, and enjoy an optional swim. After your hike, enjoy approximately 40 minutes for a traditional Baja-style lunch at Rancho Ecologico Sol de Mayo. The meal includes tacos, Mexican rice, refried beans, handmade tortillas, salsa, tortilla chips, and one non-alcoholic beverage. Following lunch, settle in for the approximately 90-minute return journey to Plaza Gali in Cabo San Lucas, where your shore excursion concludes. The total approximately 6-hour experience also allows time for boarding, transitions, and the natural pace of the activities. For active guests searching for things to do in Cabo San Lucas, this Fox Canyon hiking tour offers an opportunity to discover the region's rugged landscapes, freshwater waterfall, mountain scenery, and local culture. With guided hiking, optional waterfall swimming, and a traditional Baja-style lunch included, this shore excursion provides a memorable way to experience Los Cabos beyond the resort areas and beaches.
