Every SAGA sailing lists the ports the ship calls at and the time it arrives and departs each one. That schedule is the backbone of the track.

We follow the charted route

Between two ports a SAGA ship follows a charted course, not a straight line. It rounds headlands, threads channels and runs up fjords. We plot it on that real path.

03Position now

We work out where the ship is now

Comparing the current time against the leg the ship is on gives its position: exact at each SAGA port call, and a close estimate in between.

How does the SAGA ship tracker work?

The tracker works out each SAGA ship's position from its published itinerary and the charted route between its ports. It then estimates how far along that route the ship should be right now. That makes the position exact at each port call and an estimate in between. It is not an AIS report, so it will not show an unplanned diversion or a delay.
