U.S. Southeast Cruise Ports

The U.S. Southeast holds 11 cruise ports, 44% of the 25 in the United States. 10 of them are departure ports. The most visited cruise port in the U.S. Southeast sub-region is also its busiest departure port: Miami, Florida, appearing in 10,349 upcoming itineraries.

By port count it ranks 2nd of 3 sub-regions in the United States, behind U.S. Pacific Northwest at 11. Every port here is in United States.

These are the homeports that send most of the Caribbean fleet to sea. Miami, Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale sit within a couple of hours of each other and between them handle the majority of departures. Galveston and New Orleans cover the western Caribbean from the Gulf. Tampa’s traffic skews toward mid sized ships, because the largest vessels cannot pass under the Sunshine Skyway bridge on the way out.
