Get an up-close introduction to Bermuda's marine life and discover snorkeling in the calm secluded bays of the area. A shoreline cruise, lasting approximately 30 minutes, takes you to the pristine Sea Gardens and the Shipwreck of the 'Vixen' while enjoying informative commentary about the history and culture that help to make this island so unique. The Glass Bottom boat allows for maximum underwater viewing as you motor along. Keep your eyes open for a variety of marine life that call this area home. Departing the reef, pause at the nearby seagrass beds where you may spot a few of the many transient turtles, before making your way next to one of many small bays that line the Western islands. The boat will anchor in shallow water and you will be given a safety briefing and instruction on snorkeling. Take your snorkel gear and explore the shoreline, wade ashore and relax in the sand, or play in the shallow protected waters for approximately 1 hour or more. Island tunes waft through the air and you will find bar service available on the return boat cruise to complete the perfect family fun day.
A former berthing point for the British navy, King's Wharf is the gateway to the West End. Train, ferry, and bus services are located here for transport to onshore and offshore locations. Enjoy a scenic picnic in nearby North Arm Park.
We recommend wearing weather appropriate, casual clothing over swimwear and comfortable walking shoes. We also suggest a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Participants who are prone to motion sickness should take the necessary precautions.
