Description

St. Lucia Snorkeling & Kayking Combo Day TourSt. Lucia is rated as one of the unexploited underwater secrets in the Caribbean. With its pristine and highly diverse coral reefs, pinnacles and shipwrecks, this island offers the visitor the ideal snorkel and kayaking adventure - one not to be missed!Departing from the cruise pier area, you will be transferred to Marigot Bay for check-in at the dive shop. After receiving equipment and filling out the required waiver, you will board your boat and head out from Marigot Bay to the island's sheltered west coast. The boat may be shared by both snorkelers and divers.Depending on the water and weather conditions that day, your captain will head for the best snorkeling and diving site. This may be anywhere from a 15 to 45 minute boat ride from the dock. Upon arrival, your captain will anchor and snorkelers will be teamed up with their guide (maximum eight guests per guide) and spend approximately the next 45-60 minutes snorkeling the crystal-clear waters of St. Lucia.Back on board, a full lunch is served featuring an entree that might be baked chicken, fish, or pork, along with vegetables, salad, rice, or macaroni pie and time to rest before you are dropped off for your afternoon adventure.Back on shore, you will be introduced to your kayaking guide and briefed for 20-30 minutes on the safety equipment and techniques of kayaking. You will then enter the water and take a few practice strokes before setting out.Paddling from Marigot Bay, you'll kayak out to the open sea and follow the west coast for approximately 20-minutes to the Roseau River. There, you will travel along a lagoon and canopied mangroves nestled with birds. From the lagoon you go upstream for a short distance and then turn back towards the sea. This section is roughly half an hour. From here, it is back to Marigot. This St. Lucia excursion uses expedition touring kayaks and sit-on-top units, all with rudders and storage hatches. This tour comprises a training component especially for the use of the decked units.Average time of the tour, including transfers is 4-5 hours, but may vary based on water and weather conditions. Snorkeling is from a boat at anchor so guests should have a general knowledge of swimming. Tour may operate in reverse depending on conditions.
