In your small group of no more than 11 guests, this tour will offer a very intimate look into authentic food in the city where massive tourism would make it difficult to find on your own. Your tour will take you through the Born/La Ribera and Barceloneta districts with 6 stops. Meet up with your local, professional guide who will begin to escort you to eateries and shops that are beloved by the area's locals. Your guide has travelled and worked in South America and studied in France, but he couldn't help but come back to his roots. Influenced by the food from all the cultures and countries he visited, Barcelona represents for him what he loves the most: diversity, people, culture and history. Your guide will show you the places he goes with his friends and family and how he loves to find new shops, flavors, and stories in every corner of his city. Go where locals meet and eat and along the way see secret streets and monuments. You will eat and drink like a true Barcelonan and as you enjoy discovering the tapas culture as well as the latest gastronomic trends as you get to know the city and her history through stories shared by your guide. This very personal experience will allow you to try the many different types of Spanish and Catalan typical culinary delights, guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling. Your first stop in this mysterious, medieval city is to one of the oldest bakeries (circa 1849) where you can try a typical Catalan pastry. Some tiny streets later, you will have the chance to taste and see the diversity of gastronomy in the local Market Hall where you will get to try very tasty Spanish and Catalan cheeses and the famous Iberian Ham (jamon). You will understand the influence of other cultures in Spanish dishes in one of the most emblematic shops of the city, and master roasters since 1851. Learn the real origins of tapas and try some delicious examples in a family restaurant with some wine. Get closer to the Mediterranean Sea by sitting around a table and drinking some fresh Sangria and tasting authentic paella in one of the most picturesque places in the city. Finally, have a look at the sea and finish this great adventure through the city close to the beach (depending on the weather) for a friendship toast with Cava wine. But before your extraordinary time comes to an end, there is a secret dish you will also partake in too!
