Skagway, Alaska is located in the northernmost part of the Inside Passage, a network of waterways that stretch along the coast of British Columbia and Alaska. The port is situated at the northern end of the Lynn Canal, a long, narrow fjord that runs from the Gulf of Alaska to the town of Skagway. The port is surrounded by the Chilkoot and Chilkat Mountains, and is just a few miles from the Canada-Alaska border.
