It is situated between the larger islands of Sumbawa and Flores, and is part of the Komodo National Park. The island is approximately 8 miles long and 3 miles wide, and is home to the Komodo dragon, the world's largest living lizard. The island is accessible by boat from the nearby port of Labuan Bajo, which is the main gateway to the Komodo National Park.
