// what to expect

The Test Kitchen on your Virgin cruise ship is a culinary playground that invites guests to embark on a gastronomic adventure like no other. This innovative venue blurs the lines between a restaurant and an experimental cooking school, offering a truly unique dining experience. Inspired by the legendary Escoffier's Ma Cuisine, the Test Kitchen presents evolving tasting menus that challenge traditional culinary norms. Instead of a typical menu, diners are presented with an intriguing ingredient list, leaving the cooking techniques, presentation, and flavors to be explored in unexpectedly delightful ways. At the Test Kitchen, the excitement extends beyond the plate. Guests can immerse themselves in hands-on classes and workshops that delve into the art of mixology, coffee brewing, and more. These interactive sessions allow curious foodies to experiment with different methods and components, resulting in one-of-a-kind creations tailored to their personal tastes. The sleek and modern design of the space creates an intimate and engaging atmosphere, with an open kitchen that invites diners to witness the culinary wizardry unfold before their eyes. Whether you're a seasoned gourmand or a curious novice, the Test Kitchen promises to awaken your senses and ignite your passion for bold, boundary-pushing flavors.

Pro tip

Embrace the unknown and be open to trying new ingredients and flavors at the Test Kitchen. You may discover a new favorite dish or cooking technique that you can recreate at home. Don't be afraid to step out of your culinary comfort zone and let the talented chefs guide you on your gastronomic adventure.

How to reserve

If you would like to make a reservation, you can! If you prefer to plan ahead, you'll have the ability to book dining experiences during the pre-voyage period directly from our Virgin Voyages App or through a First Mate starting 45 days before departure, and our Sailors booked in Mega RockStar and RockStar Quarters will have the ability to book starting 60 days before. That being said, if you like to go with the flow, we take walk-ins and day-of reservations at all of our eateries. With so many options, you'll never have to stress about having an incredible dining experience waiting for you. If you would like to make reservations prior to voyage and none are available, no need to worry! We don't open all reservations prior to the voyage, so more reservation slots open up once you come aboard the ship.
