The Millennium Class is a series of four cruise ships operated by Celebrity Cruises, constructed between 1999 and 2002 at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. Included in the Millennium class are the Millennium (2000), Infinity (2001), Summit (2001), and Constellation (2002). Each measures approximately 294 meters in length and has a gross tonnage around 91,000 GT. Notably, this class was among the first cruise ships to utilize a turbo-electric COGAS (Combined Gas and Steam) power plant, enhancing energy efficiency by reclaiming otherwise lost energy. In early 2024, the Celebrity Infinity underwent a significant refurbishment during a dry dock period in January, lasting over two weeks, as part of Celebrity Cruises' ongoing fleet modernization efforts. The updates focused heavily on enhancing the luxury experience for suite guests, including the introduction of new Sunset Suites located at the aft of the ship—these premium accommodations feature expansive views and large private balconies designed for enjoying sunsets at sea, replacing former cabin categories like Family Balcony staterooms. The former Michael's Club was transformed into a refreshed Retreat Lounge, an exclusive space for suite passengers, while the elegant Luminae restaurant at The Retreat was expanded to offer more seating and dining options. Throughout the ship, public areas received a comprehensive refresh with new carpeting, wall coverings, updated furniture, improved lighting, refreshed decking, and new whirlpools on the pool deck, along with various technical and maintenance upgrades to ensure smoother operations. These changes modernized the 2001-built vessel, elevating its overall ambiance and luxury offerings.
