Your journey begins at the cruise terminal. A bus or car will take you to Nedstrand into one of the fjords, passing the small communities and beautiful landscape. The buss trip will take approximately 1 hour each way. While passing Fjords and mountains, your guide will tell you about the life and history of the people of Haugesund. Upon arrival at Nedstrand, soak in the surroundings of the cozy village, Hindervåg. We hike up to Himakånå, 357 meters above sea level. The walk up is around 2 km, a steep walk on a gravel path, but we take it at a slow pace. An element of fitness is recommended due to the steep and uneven terrain. The walk takes around one hour each way. Once we reach the summit, it's the perfect time for pictures of the panoramic views. Himakånå is one of Norway's most popular "selfie spots"! Here we'll rest and enjoy our "matpakke"( a light typical Norwegian lunch), taking in the breathtaking mountain and fjord surroundings, before we head back down to Nedstrand.
Stavanger, the southern gateway to the Fjordlands, is also the home port of much of the fleet that serves the North Sea oil fields. Visit for historical investigation or to soak up the majesty of the natural terrain. View its medieval Cathedral and other highlights of the town or travel out to Pulpit Rock, a breathtaking vista high above the fjords.
