Description
Private Group Volcano, Hot Springs and WineryThis group tour for 30 - 35 guests is perfect for larger groups that are active, enjoy tasting new wines and wish to do something outside of the box. First, you will meet your professionally-trained and local guide on the tender pier at Fira. From here, you will board a kaiki(tender) and sail to the lava islet of Nea Kameni. There you will leave the boat and set out on an approximately 20-minute uphill walk on a soil and rock path observing the lava fragments and volcanic rock formations.Once you reach the top of the crater, look for steam coming out of the craters walls. You will have some free time to look into the crater, enjoy the view across the caldera and take lots of photos. Then, you will descend back to the kaiki. Leaving the volcanic island, you will sail towards the thermal springs at Palea Kameni. The boat will anchor at the green sulfuric waters and you will have the chance to take a quick dip in the warm waters of the thermal spring. From the hot springs you will sail to Athinios Port where your transportation will be waiting. Leaving Athinios port, you will ascend along the colorful rocky sides of the caldera wall while enjoying panoramic views of Santorini and the caldera. Once at the top, you will be driven to one of the local wineries for a brief explanation of the unique Santorini style of wine making and a tasting of three of the most famous wines of Santorini. From the winery, continue on through the beautiful countryside to Fira, the picturesque capital town of the island, built on the rim of the caldera wall. After a brief orientation from your tour guide, you will be on your own to explore the twisting pedestrian streets in search of jewelry, gifts or the perfect view over the caldera while you enjoy a coffee or another glass of Greek wine. When you are ready to return to your ship, use your included cable car ticket to return to the tender pier in Fira. Please Note: This tour offers customized departure times between 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM.
