Description

Ultimate Combo Tour Your exciting adventure begins at the natural wonder of the Tortuguero Canals. This incredible biological diverse region is known as "Costa Rica's Amazon." Have the wonderful privilege of learning about the natural flora and fauna while experiencing first- hand the beauty and diversity of Costa Rica's rainforest. Take a cruise on the Tortuguero Canals, a branch of the Tortuguero River, which is a protected area of the rainforest. Once finished exploring and learning about Costa Rica's rainforest, your second destination begins your adrenaline filled adventure where you will zipline while gliding through treetops on 11 cables and 12 platforms stretched across the length of the rainforest. The largest cable is approximately 886 ft. long (270 meters), reaching heights up to 260 feet (80 meters). Enjoy the thrill and excitement of gliding at high speeds through the rainforest while witnessing spectacular views. But don't be alarmed, you will begin with lighter and shorter cables to get used to the speed. When you reach the fifth platform, the trips will be more challenging, yet fun. However, if at any moment you feel you do not wish to continue, you can climb down from either platform five or seven. Next, you will visit one of the many banana plantations that encompass this area. Bananas have been a staple of Costa Rica's economy for well over 100 years. In the early years of the 1900s, banana trees were brought here from overseas and were planted all over the landscape, with some plantations visible for miles from the few roads that crossed the countryside. It is here where you will learn about the history of the establishment of the cultivar, the process from the very plant or seedling through the harvesting, the agroindustrial economy and the export process so that you can have this delicious fruit in your home. As your rainforest adventure comes to an end, you will stop at a fresh fruit stand to fuel up and taste some delicious local fruits available. On the way back to port you will see some of the most beautiful sights of Limon and her surroundings.
