Description
On the Progreso Scooter Sightseeing and Beach Break Excursion, you'll get to see places such as the Malecon, Chorchito Cenote and have a beach break at Silcer Beach Club. You'll take a free shuttle from the cruise terminal down the very long pier to the meeting point where you will meet your guide. This is an adults-only excursion for those 18 years and up. Any guest wanting to drive must show their valid driver's license. When booking, you will have the option to order a single rider scooter or a double. Before setting off on the scooters, you'll receive a safety briefing and a safety helmet. Once everyone is ready, the guide will lead the small group on the road for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before arriving at two famous beaches in Progreso, stopping along the seawall, known as Malecon in Spanish. These excellent photo opportunity locations will allow you to capture images of the beach, ocean, and town, in a single frame. You will also stop in the main square for a chance to view the impressive architecture. You will then follow your guide for another 20 minutes along the scenic coast before stopping in the town of Chelem Port, a sleepy fishing village rich with Mexican culture. Here you will have a chance to stretch your legs while taking more photos. During your return to Progreso, you'll stop at Cenote El Chorchito; cenotes are deep limestone sinkholes with freshwater pools at the bottom. You can spend the hour splashing around in the fresh, calm waters or take more photos before heading to the handicraft market where you'll have a chance to pick up some local handicrafts; you can find colorful jewelry, blankets, pottery, and much more. Your final stop on the two-wheeled adventure is at the Silcer Beach Club located on a secluded strip of sandy beaches located near the town of Progreso. You'll have two hours to enjoy beach club swimming in the ocean or pool, kayaking or paddle boating, walking on the sandy beach, or just relaxing in a hammock soaking up the sun while enjoying food and drink (at your expense). Available beverages for purchase at the bar include pina coladas, margaritas, soft drinks, mixed drinks, beer (Corona and other Mexican beers owned by Corona such as Modelo, Pacifico, etc.), and bottled purified water; all mixed drinks are available with or without alcohol. Available for purchase from the restaurant are Panuchos and Salbutes (traditional Yucatecan dishes), quesadillas, tacos, chicken fajitas, salsa and chips, guacamole, nachos, pizza, burgers, and hotdogs; food options are subject to change. There is no shortage of options. At the end of the day, you'll be driven back to your Progreso cruise ship dock. If you are up for a two-wheeled exhilarating yet relaxing excursion, then the Progreso Scooter Sightseeing and Beach Break Excursion is the right one for you.
