This day trip is a tour along a section of rugged coastline along Oregon's northern coast. The trip will include a history stop, a short hike through oldgrowth Sitka spruce forest, beach time, tide pools (if tides allow), sea stacks, viewpoint stops, and a lunch stop in the artist's community of Cannon Beach, where the famous Haystack Rock resides.
Portland, Oregon has almost unlimited prime outdoor areas, including the Columbia Gorge, Mount Hood, and the Oregon coast. Activities include skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, camping, fishing and more. Within the city limits there are more than 100 parks, including the award-winning Washington Park Zoo, the Japanese Garden, and the International Rose Test Garden.
