Description
Two Countries, One E-Bike Shore Excursion Some people say the best way to really get to know a new area is on the seat of a bike. This 30km tour aims to do just that as you go on an eco-friendly journey through Sint Maarten! Before you start your ride, your local guide will give a brief introduction to cycling in St. Maarten and how to use your bike. You will then follow your guide along the Boardwalk of Philipsburg that hugs Great Bay's white sand beach. You will also pass Divi Little Bay and continue over Cay Hill for an amazing view of the Simpson Bay Lagoon. After descending into Cole Bay, you will cross the Causeway, which stretches over the Lagoon, and make a short stop at the Border Monument. Here is where the Dutch Side borders the French side, and your guide will explain all about the Concordia Treaty signed in the 1600's. To this day it still serves as an amicable agreement between French and Dutch St. Maarten. Continue riding along to Marigot, the French Capital, where you will explore the local market, savoring the sights, smells, and sounds of a traditional Caribbean marketplace. You will also enjoy a cold beverage before making a short walk to the historic Fort Louis, once a strategic fortress protecting the bay of Marigot. On your return, you can decide to end your journey in Simpson Bay, or continue back over the hill to Philipsburg. Please Note: This is only an E-bike tour.
