Description

Exclusive Trail and Beach Horseback Ready to ride? Then head out on this exclusive Ocho Rios Trail and Beach Horseback adventure! Your Beach Horseback Ride and Swim adventure begins the pier, where you are greeted by your driver/tour guide. When you arrive at the Horseback Ride facility, the friendly staff members will welcome you and prepare you for a great time. Before beginning your journey, a safety briefing will be given. Helmets are provided. All participants will ride in a single file. As most participants are inexperienced, your ride will be slow along the trail. The horses will be able to trot at some spots throughout the route. Take a ride through the woodland areas where the Taino Indians once went food hunting. As you go through a natural wetland shaded by almond, coconut, and other tree species, observe the excavations that are being conducted by archaeologists who are eager to discover the region's rich past. The return ride takes you along the deserted beach, where herons and other water birds fish in the shallow waters. Then it's through the mangroves, which hide the remains of an 18th- century warehouse and by an ancient waterwheel, which powered the old sugar mill on this former sugar plantation. Please Note: The maximum weight per horse is 230 pounds. Guests weighing more than this will not be allowed to ride and will not be entitled to a refund. A photo CD is available to purchase on the day of the tour, however, it is not recommended to purchase the CD as the quality of photos cannot be guaranteed and it is non-refundable. The CD's are sold by local independent representatives and not affiliated whatsoever with Shore Excursions Group. Instead, please feel free to bring a camera with you to capture your own memories. No refunds will be issued once a photo CD has been purchased.
