Description

Lunch in the Cotswolds The Cotswolds represent an area that is forever England, remaining seemingly unchanged with the passing of time. Rolling landscapes, dry stone walls, perpendicular churches and sparkling clear streams fuse with tiny villages and hamlets with their charming limestone houses, tea shops, and inns. Your guided full-day tour of the Cotswolds begins in Burford, where the magnificent High Street, which slopes down to the River Windrush, holds every variety of Cotswold stone. There will be time to visit the small teahouses before heading south to picturesque Bibury. Lunch beckons and what better way to satisfy your hunger than with a fabulous two-course lunch in the heart of the Cotswolds at the Swan Hotel! The hotel overlooks the River Coln in Bibury, once described as the prettiest village in Britain by artist William Morris. The 17th-century former coaching inn serves a fabulous range of traditional cooking. The afternoon is spent exploring Burton-on-the-water in the north of the Cotswolds, one of the most beautiful villages in the region and finally, Stow-on-the-Wold, a gorgeous market town. Your guide will take you on a short walk in each village explaining their history before re-joining the coach and returning to London. Please Note: Tour departs from the Victoria Coach (bus) Station. The coach station is an approximate 5 minute walk from the Victoria Train station. This tour is intended for your pre/post cruise experience. Please be advised that the tour departure location is approximately a 2-hour drive from the port. You must find your own way to the tour departure location (at your own expense). There are many options, such as taking a taxi, train, bus, or any combination of the above.
