Ban Gioc Waterfall is the largest and most stunning waterfall in Vietnam, is situated in the Cao Bang region in the country's northeast. The water is 300 meters broad and 30 meters high as it descends three floors. The water for the waterfall comes from the Quay Son River. This gorgeous river, which is emerald blue, originates in China and travels through a breathtaking scenery of limestone cliffs and rice paddies. Despite being very well-known on social media and having easy access by road, the Ban Gioc Waterfall is still not a popular tourist destination. There aren't many foreign and local tourists outside of the weekends and public holidays.
Hong Gai lies along Ha Long Bay of the Gulf of Tonkin, about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Haiphong. It is an export centre for coal mined at nearby Quang Yen, the site of anthracite deposits that are the largest in Southeast Asia. Other economic activities in the area are rice farming and fishing. Ha Long Bay is noted for its many strangely shaped limestone inlets and caves and grottoes.
