Levada Mimosa Valley Walk

Start your day by making your way to Machico, on the eastern part of the island and follow a levada as it meanders past colorful flora and fauna and crosses 2 water courses. During this easy 5 kilometer (3 mile) walk, you will see everyday life unfold as you observe the locals tending to the land and their animals. Depending on the time of year, you might also be treated to an abundance of brightly colored flowers along the way. After the walk concludes, you and your small group will be escorted to a popular viewpoint, with breathtaking panoramic views of the east coast and Machico.
