Starting our tour with amazing views over Funchal´s Bay, we drive uphill to Boca dos Namorados, at nearly 1000 mts high, where we could see the famous Curral das Freiras (Nun's Valley). Going higher to Boca da Corrida through a spectacular off road, you will be astonished by the main volcanic complex and highest mountains of the island. From there, we go downhill to Jardim da Serra, place known by its cherry production. Here we will have a quick stop, where you can buy a portugues coffee, natural tea or the very traditional drink Poncha, freshly made by a local. We will continue towards Cabo Girão, the highest cliff in Europe and second in the World with 589 mts, better known for its renovated viewpoint with suspended glass floor. Later, we will finish our tour at the warm and traditional fishing village of Câmara de Lobos visiting a Madeira Wine Lodge, where our guests will have the opportunity to taste (included) the famous Madeira wine (Sweet / Medium Sweet / Dry / Medium Dry).
Funchal is a busy port exporting wines, fish, and fruit, it is best known for its beautiful setting and balmy climate, which make it a much-frequented resort. It has a late-15th-century cathedral and a convent church containing the tomb of Jose Goncalves Zarco, who founded the city in 1421.
