Independence of the Seas’ 2018 refurbishment focused on modernizing dining venues and accommodations while completing necessary technical drydock work. Dining spaces were refreshed with updated décor, new seating arrangements, and improved layouts to enhance ambiance and guest flow. Cabins received updated soft goods, refreshed furnishings, and improved lighting to modernize the in-room experience. Public spaces were subtly refreshed to maintain a cohesive aesthetic. In addition to guest-facing updates, the refurbishment included technical maintenance to hotel systems, mechanical components, and onboard infrastructure, supporting continued operational reliability and efficiency.
