Carriacou Island is one of the Grenadines,the most beautiful archipelago in the Caribbean. The name Carriacou itself is supposed to come from the Carib word for the island meaning "land of many reefs". In 17th and 18th Century records it was spelt Kayryouacou. Although only 13 square miles Carriacou is the largest of the one hundred or so Grenadine Islands dotted between St Vincent and Grenada. It offers the naturalist and ecotourist alike, some of the most memorable moments and experiences in the Grenadines. A rare and intriguing paradise.
